Paul Tooze - Chairman

Paul is a long-time resident of Taunton, having lived in the town for over 13 years. He is currently employed at the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office, where he dedicates his time and skills. Paul has also actively participated in local government, previously serving as a district councillor. His commitment to the community led him to become a trustee, furthering his contribution to the betterment of the area. With his extensive experience and dedication to the town, Paul is a valuable asset to the community, continuously striving to make a positive impact.

Gill Harrison

Gill has a strong background in Education, having worked as a teacher, head teacher, and SENCO. Before making a career shift joining the WATCH project as a facilitator for a wellbeing courses. Currently, Gill is a part of The Open Mental Health Community Engagement Project at Spark Somerset, where she actively contributes to improving mental health within the community. Additionally, she also takes on the role of chairperson for the Taunton Food and Support Alliance, demonstrating her commitment to addressing food insecurity and providing support to those in need. Gill's diverse experiences and dedication make her a valuable asset to the organisations she works with, as she continues to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Mark Wood

Mark, who grew up in Priorswood, has found his calling in software engineering. With his sharp mind and technical skills, he excels in this field, continuously developing innovative solutions and contributing to various projects. However, Mark's passion extends beyond his professional domain. In his spare time, he selflessly dedicates himself to helping the youth and children at Wellsprings Community Church. Through his involvement in the church's youth and children's work, Mark nurtures young minds, guiding them towards a path of growth and self-discovery. His commitment to both his career and community is truly admirable, and his impact on the lives of those around him is immeasurable.

Melanie Butt

Mel is a long-time resident of North Taunton, having lived here for more than 25 years. With a strong background in administration, she brings valuable expertise to the community. Mel's dedication to serving others is evident through her previous volunteer work at the Community Centre. Her commitment and passion for making a difference in the lives of others led her to become a trustee of the centre. Mel's years of experience and knowledge in administration make her a valuable asset to the Community Centre's board. Her contributions are greatly appreciated and she continues to make a positive impact on the community she calls home.

Verity Underhill

Verity is a local resident who has pursued a career in the mental health field. She initially worked as a mental health nurse within the NHS, gaining valuable experience and knowledge in the field. Later on, she transitioned to the private sector, taking on the role of an area manager responsible for staff appointment and retention in six nursing homes. This position allowed her to further develop her leadership and management skills. Verity also dedicates her time as a volunteer at the community centre one morning a week, she assists at the reception, welcoming and assisting visitors. Verity's passion for mental health care, coupled with her diverse experience, make her a valuable asset to both the healthcare sector and the local community.
